Why private chemistry tutoring?
- Get individualized, adaptable assistance tailored to your needs
- Learn to break down and solve problems systematically and account for different variations
- Get feedback on your problem-solving process- not just a “correct” or “incorrect” at the end
- Clarify, reinforce, and/or practice applying concepts learned in class
*if you are taking chemistry at a College or University other than the University of Illinois, please email me your syllabus and/or lecture topic outline when contacting me so that I can determine if I am able to help you.
About Me
My name is Lauren and I am a three-time alumni of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I worked at UIUC for eight years as a general chemistry tutor while completing my graduate degrees. I previously advertised my services through tutormatchingservice.com until they became a K-12 exclusive service. I continue to tutor college students privately in the Champaign-Urbana area.
If you are currently enrolled in CHEM101, CHEM102, CHEM103, CHEM104, or CHEM105 at UIUC and are looking for a private tutor, please fill out the form below or email me at to get in touch!

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do you charge?
My rate is currently $30/hr with a minimum of a 1 hour per session. I do offer a bulk discount for students interested in committing to a regular weekly meeting time.
Where do you tutor?
I am happy to meet you in any location open to the general public (Illini Union, library, coffee shop, etc) on or nearby the University of Illinois college campus. I can also tutor online.
When are you available?
Most of my availability is late afternoons and evenings- but feel free to let me know what your availability is when you contact me and I’ll see what I can do!
Can you tutor Physics?
Not really. I could probably figure it out as I go but it has been a such a long time since I’ve taken physics that you’re probably better off looking into some of the on-campus tutoring centers (like CARE or the Center for Access and Academic Success) or another private tutor.
